A novel method to make Lagrangians Galilean invariant is developed. The method, based on null Lagrangians and their gauge functions, is used to demonstrate the Galilean invariance of the Lagrangian for Newton's law of inertia. In this paper, we study a new class of functions, which we call (ω,c)-asymptotically periodic functions. This collection includes asymptotically periodic, asymptotically antiperiodic, asymptotically Bloch-periodic, and unbounded functions. We prove that the set conformed by these functions is a Banach space with a suitable norm. Furthermore, we show several properties of this class of functions as the convolution invariance. We present some examples and a composition result. As an application, we prove the existence and uniqueness of (ω,c)-asymptotically periodic mild solutions to the first-order abstract Cauchy problem on the real line. Also, we establish some sufficient conditions for the existence of positive (ω,c)-asymptotically periodic solutions to the Lasota-Wazewska equation with unbounded oscillating production of red cells. 相似文献

In previous work we have shown that classical approximation theory provides methods for the systematic construction of inverse-closed smooth subalgebras. Now we extend this work to treat inverse-closed subalgebras of ultradifferentiable elements. In particular, Carleman classes and Dales–Davie algebras are treated. As an application the result of Demko, Smith and Moss, and Jaffard on the inverse of a matrix with exponential decay is obtained within the framework of a general theory of smoothness. 相似文献

The first part of this article presents invariance criteria for a stochastic differential equation whose state evolution is constrained by time-dependent security tubes. The key results of this section are derived by considering an equivalent problem where the square of distance function represents a viscosity solution to an adequately defined partial differential equation. The second part of the paper analyzes the broader context when solutions are constrained by more general time-dependent convex domains.
